GIL KOFMAN
ARTIST BIO
Gil Kofman was born in Nigeria and lived in Tel Aviv and Kenya. He received his MFA
from the Yale School of Drama in playwriting. He wrote and directed the well reviewed feature film-THE MEMORY THIEF - starring Mark Webber and Jerry Adler.
He later was hired to direct and edit a Chinese thriller called - CASE SENSITIVE – which opened in over 2,000 theaters in China and aired on HBO Asia. His third film – LOST IN THE WHITE CITY – which he also produced and edited, stars Haley Bennett and Thomas Dekker.
Gil also taught several years at the USC Graduate Screenwriting program, and has had three plays published by Broadway Play Publishing - AMERICAN MAGIC - with Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth doing music and Richard Foreman playing the President. His play THE INTERVIEW/ ENTREVISTA – about Latino immigration, starred Frank Wood, and played in LA, NY and Dallas and received a Dramalogue Award. Some of Gil’s fiction was published in Gordon Lishʼs publication - The Quarterly. His photography work is represented and shown at the dnj Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica.
